Motivated by the lack of information about Black Women's Fitness issues, I am creating a Community for Black Women to voice their concerns and discuss issues related to physical health. I will share information about my experience. We all know that the Black Women's experience has its complexities. From the prevalence of diabetes and breast cancer in our community to not working out because we just paid $75 dollars to get our hair done, there are a ton of issues!
Queen Latifah's Transformation shows that you don't have to be stick skinny to be healthy. The experts say losing 5 to 10% of your current weight over a 6 month period can have dramatic effects for your cardiovascular health and other diseases. Get started on your fit and curvy journey by making food swaps. Go Brown: eat whole wheat bread, brown rice, and other whole grains. Reduce your sugar intake by cutting down on soda (squirt some lemon and lime in your water instead). Of course eat tons of Fruits and Veggies.
