Motivated by the lack of information about Black Women's Fitness issues, I am creating a Community for Black Women to voice their concerns and discuss issues related to physical health. I will share information about my experience. We all know that the Black Women's experience has its complexities. From the prevalence of diabetes and breast cancer in our community to not working out because we just paid $75 dollars to get our hair done, there are a ton of issues!

A Goddess Guide to a Healthy and Happy Holiday
Alright, Goddesses! We are at the peak of holiday season. This means lots of holiday cocktails, appetizers, desserts--oh my! How can one survive without falling off the weight loss/fitness wagon? Don't fear! We've gathered our favorite and realistic tips out there into one easy guide just for you!
-Meet with your scale once a day: While we know weight can fluctuate throughout the week, especially for women, its been proven that when you check your weight, your more likely to be motivated to stay on track and avoid the "cheat days".
-Make time for fitness: Its important to keep your body moving. Not only will you burn more calories, but you'll stay inspired to keep it healthy each day, thus helping you make healthy decisions at your next holiday party. You don't have to drag yourself to the gym, you can find plenty of workouts to do at home or outside in any health and fitness magazine!
-Savor the goodies: Go ahead! eat your cake, drink another glass of wine. Just take yoru time when you do. Sipping or nibbling slowly will allow your brain time to register when its really full. If you eat to fast, your brain won't catch up!
-Don't deprive yourself: The more you do, the more likely your going to binge. So have a slice of pie, just keep the tip above in mind ;).
-Use leftovers to your advantage: Grab some extra turkey, veggies, etc. for a few extra healthy meals for the next few days after the big Christmast dinner.

Day Zero!
Alright! so this is my 1st blog ever!!! I plan to start doing TWO-A-DAY workouts starting tomorrow!!! My fiance leaves for work at 6:30am and i plan to leave! correction! I WILL be leaving with him to head to work for an hour of cardio before work! YAY this is the Nubian Fitness Goddess idea! It makes sense since i work at the gym! So i will work out before work and i will use my break for a quick 30 min weight training! So this is my goal! Due to the last time i stepped on the scale all i could do was shake my head! I do want to say I am doing this for myself!!! Not because i will be married soon but for myself! my fiance loves my weight and actually doesn't want me to get tooo small! I hate that women base their health/appearance on a man! Weather they are gaining or losing weight unintentional due to low self esteem! That is a whole nother blog! Anyway, not only will i be doing 2-a-days i will start Whole Living! which is similar to Clean it just isn't as strict! It is based around eating from the earth, nothing processed and conserving energy! So for example if you are roasting a chicken (free range of course) with vegetables (organic) instead of only putting that in the oven you should maybe make Zucchini bread in there as well! You should use the bones for stock! and compost the rest!! Also, will try to make my own canned food with mason jars! When i have all my materials i will blog about it! So here's to changes and new beginning before the beginning of the new year!!! Also January will start my adventures with P90X!!! Alrighty bloggers! everyone Live Life and Love PEACE!!!
